Unreasonably excited about the future.

Currently making things I used to only imagine.

01 / THE HUMAN BEHIND THE HARDWARE
I’ve never been very good at being uninterested.
Radio and satellite communications in the Army. Networks and security. Linux, web design, and the moment you realize a computer will let you build almost anything—if you’re willing to learn.
Then came two decades of owning businesses with my brother. Real customers. Real teams. Real problems that don’t politely wait for the next software update.
Today, those worlds have come back together. I’m building again. Not because I have everything figured out. Because I can finally turn more of that curiosity into something real.

Building with AI

02 / BIG POSSIBILITIES. A PERSONAL CHAPTER.
What excites me about AI isn’t just what it can answer. It’s what it can help us create.
For me, that possibility became practical with OpenClaw and an AI collaborator I call Eve. We explore ideas, work through designs, write and review code, test the details, and keep asking what could be better.
That long-running inventory idea became RocketShift, the app. Then came another RocketShift—this time RocketShift Studio (preview), a new business venture helping other people bring their ideas to life.
I bring the lived experience, ideas, judgment, and direction. Eve helps me explore further and turn more of those ideas into working things. The process has rekindled my enthusiasm for technology—and there’s still time for a physics joke.
A little like having my own Friday.
Fewer repulsors. More browser tabs.
My name is on the door. Eve belongs in the story.

Not a list of qualifications.
A few clues to the operating system.
Give me Neuromancer, Blade Runner, The Matrix, or a very good episode of Star Trek. Not just for the worlds, but for the questions they leave behind.
Data is my favorite sci-fi character. His curiosity, decency, and search to understand humanity still get me. Some stories stay with you because they keep asking you to feel and think.
MORE TREKKIE THAN JEDI. LIVE LONG AND PROSPER.I admire Steve Jobs’s insistence on the experience, and Elon Musk’s willingness to attempt things that sound unreasonable. Different approaches. A shared refusal to accept “that’s just how it is.”
I love Apple’s thoughtful hardware, the possibilities of AI, and technology that expands what people can do. Give me a Mac Studio and a good idea.
Linux was a revelation: you could look inside, understand the machine, and change it. Open source still carries that invitation.
Bitcoin speaks to another part of the same instinct—ownership, independent thinking, and a longer time horizon. I’m interested in the ideas, not just the ticker.
LINUX · OPEN SOURCE · BITCOINI was a personal trainer before a lot of these other chapters. Fitness is still part of my life. Some progress comes from a breakthrough. Some comes from showing up again.
And yes, the workshop runs on Coke Zero, a little electronic music, and the occasional very loud Rush track. No coffee required.

SPACETIME / AN OPEN-SOURCE PLAYGROUNDTurn up the gravity. Watch the clocks disagree.
Physics has an excellent sense of humor.
Same universe. Different elapsed time. These are stationary clocks around an idealized, nonrotating spherical mass; the grid is an illustration, not a literal fabric.
The near clock is held at 1.8 stellar radii. Gravity strength sets the Schwarzschild radius divided by the stellar radius, from 0.05 to 0.80. Its rate compared with a clock at infinity is √(1 − rₛ/r). Both clocks advance at 10 simulated seconds per real second. The mass stays inside its stellar surface; neither clock crosses an event horizon. The grid depth and moving particles are qualitative illustrations, not calculated spacetime geometry or physical orbits.
07 / THE NEXT CHAPTER ISN’T WRITTEN
It’s something I want to help build.
More curiosity. More useful things. More room for the ideas that won’t leave us alone. If that sounds like your kind of future, we’ll probably get along.
